The forest is important for Slovenia and Slovenes. It covers two-thirds of the county\u2019s territory and thus as a prevailing feature characterizes the landscape and improves the quality of life. It provides a number of\u00a0 valuable\u00a0 goods\u00a0 that\u00a0 are\u00a0 not\u00a0 only\u00a0 wood,\u00a0 but\u00a0 also\u00a0 other\u00a0 natural\u00a0 resources\u00a0 which\u00a0 must\u00a0 be\u00a0 sustainably\u00a0 managed.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 report\u00a0 notes\u00a0 that\u00a0 the\u00a0 NFP\u00a0 that\u00a0 represents\u00a0 the\u00a0 fundamental\u00a0 strategic\u00a0 \u00a0document\u00a0 \u00a0aimed\u00a0 \u00a0at\u00a0 \u00a0establishing,\u00a0 \u00a0conducting\u00a0 \u00a0and\u00a0 \u00a0monitoring national policies of sustainable forest management, has predominantly been implemented. The main principles, objectives and\u00a0 guidelines\u00a0 outlined\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 NFP\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 preservation\u00a0 of\u00a0 forests\u00a0 and\u00a0 \u00a0their\u00a0 \u00a0multifunctional\u00a0 \u00a0role,\u00a0 \u00a0which\u00a0 \u00a0includes\u00a0 \u00a0environmental,\u00a0 \u00a0social\u00a0 and\u00a0 economic\u00a0 aspects,\u00a0 have\u00a0 been\u00a0 followed.\u00a0 Forest\u00a0 sector\u00a0 cooperates with other links of the forest-wood chain, environmental protection and nature conservation as well as with all others who are associated with forests and forest land.<\/p>\n
